Jewels has meningitis and more

Her brain is swelling due to meningitis.  She is on bedrest, the windows are blacked out.  She can’t see or  hear things in order to heal.  She is getting very sick and the meningitis isn’t curing.  She already has Lyme’s and has spent 20 months in bed due to her serious illness.

WeHeartJewels is asking for help in prayers for strength, hope, healing and courage for Jewels, John and Johnny and that God lifts Jewels through this soon, very soon.

…In the fall, I started to really turn the corner. I was able to go go to doctor’s appointments. I was sitting outside for short periods in my front yard. I was able to walk around a bit.  I had so much fun with the wigs my friends were sending me. I even went in the wheelchair for about 15 minutes to see Johnny trick or treating.  The day after Halloween I had a major set back. I have been almost 100% bed bound since Halloween.  Things really went down hill. Everything from a failed port which resulted in a collapsed lung, to new port placement, heavy treatments, pnuemonia’s, shingles etc.  I am attached to an IV about 20 hours a day.  I haven’t been out except for a couple hospital trips and ambulance ER fiasco’s….”, From Jewels herself on her blog, A Blonde Walks Into A Blog!

Starting to Save a Life

Jewels is the most incredible woman you could ever imagine meeting. She is the strongest, most amazing mother, wife, daughter, and best friend anyone could ever ask for. She has literally inspired thousands of people from all over the world with her battle with Lyme Disease. Jewels has spent the last 19 months completely bed bound due to complications from Lyme Disease, a condition called POTS and rare autoimmune deficiencies. Right now, she is in excruciating pain due to a collapsed lung and a port in her chest along with severe headaches, vomiting, bone and muscle pain from her treatments.  However, through it all, she continues to provide emotional support to others who are struggling with cancer, Lyme’s, or other serious and debilitating diseases-all while raising her son with her husband and fighting for her life.

Four of her closest friends started in the hopes of raising as much money as it takes to find a cure for Jewels.  This project has been in the works for nearly a year and we are absolutely thrilled to officially launch it today, on Valentine’s Day!

Please help show Jewels your love and support by doing one or more of our 5 Ways to Show You Care at!

Please also support Jewels on our Facebook Page, and our Twitter account,  Don’t forget that one of the biggest ways you can make a difference is to help us spread the word about to your friends, family and networks!

Thank you in advance for all of your support.  As you can imagine, Jewels needs it!  We are so excited to embark on this great journey with you to pursue the ultimate miracle in helping Jewels find a cure.
